Post by Weepy » 24 Mar 2014, 6:45 pm

So Dr. Pepper make a BBQ sauce now... Cherry Coke BBQ is gunna be something else

Seriously though, need some good smokey BBQ sauce!

I had some good sauce from some little boutique place down the coast but finally ran out.

Tell me what's good :)

i'm a fan of the old HP or cornwells fathers favorite sauce

why not have a crack at making your own?

using tomato sauce as a base you can add stuff you probably already have in the pantry like brown sugar, garlic powder, vinegar, smoked paprika, etc. you can even add a bit of bourbon or some bottled caramelized onions for a bit of class

Where was that, Mornington Peninsula?

There are lots of good little growers, breweries and all sorts down there.

I can highly recommend the Spicy As BBQ Sauce

BTW, it's not my company and I have no interest financial or otherwise, we just have the same name.

Another good one straight off the shelf is Masterfoods Smokey BBQ, love it on ribs etc. and you can get it at Woolies etc.

Try 333's family recipe rib sauce, available from Woolworths. This is our family's choice and the future choice of everyone who tries it at our place(except for a work colleague who is Vegan and won't even touch it because it says RIB sauce- makes her feel sick).

Australian owned and made and really good stuff.

Erm, if memory serves (most) BBQ sauce would be vegan, right?

Tomato, vinegar, suger, spice, mustard, pepper, molasses and so on...

Silly vegan.

I've got a bottle of that at home in the "ultra" hot level.

Interested to try it... More due to morbid fascination more than anything else

Yep, don't get me started on her. Suffice it to say that my whole life doesn't go down well with her we even have to have two microwaves.

I could cope with her food disorder if it wasn't for all the other silly crap she carries on with. "Thats nice" gets used a lot, cracks up a few of the others who watch Mrs Browns Boys a bit.

How's this person so involved in your life as a "work mate"?

Bugger buying a second microwave, they can just not come over for dinner IMO

I hot bunk a desk with her when I work there- casual relief basis. She doesn't like me which is fine, the relationship has always been a bit strained.

There has to be a second microwave in the crib room so her food isn't tainted by "meeeat vaaaaaapour".

Ah, two microwaves at work... That makes more sense ;)

I was wondering why the hell she keeps coming to dinner at your place when you don't like each other
