Pretty sure Boyds do a Left Hand stock for the Howa mate,

Just checked the site and the TH are $102us Bummer, I think the classic is also available in LH so might be an option.

I got the Boyds Lefty Featherweight Thumbhole in sporter profile and opened up the barrel channel for the Varmint Barreled Howa. Came in under the $100.

Cheers.

Do they do left handed stock for a right handed action though?

Don't know where it came from I'm ambidextrous with it and just shoot that litte bit better from the left

Yeah as Gwion said - the Howa's are right handed and his is a Left hand stock with a right hand action setup. I know a few people who own Howa's that are set up for lefties.

Have a look here at Gwion's post

That looks all sorts of backwards with the lefthand thumbhole and righthand bolt

Mate, i'm the same. Up close, i'd rather shoot right hand but out further i really need to shoot left (especially at night) so i can sight the target properly. So, i just taught myself to shoot left.

Boydes don't do many leftie stocks for right actions, but the Featherweight Thumbhole Sporter is one. It doesn't come in a varmint but the barrel channel opens up fine and still leaves plenty on the fore-end rails.

Yeah it sounds messy but I make it work haha

Only downside is the extra second it takes to chamber the next round but it's brilliant set up when your shooting from the passengers seat
