Trailcams getting stolen

To anyone who's been using trailcams for a few years, have you had any/many problems with people tampering or stealing your cams?

Chances are small I guess that someone will come across your cam, but it must happen from time to time.

Anyone found people to have had a poke around at the cam? Or just stolen it?

How often would you say, if it's happened to you?

Yep, A land holder I used to work for had problems with pig doggers poaching on his land which joined onto national park, constantly cutting fences etc we put up trail camera to catch them, they seen it and stole it, so undeterred we put up three more and caught them in the act of not only trespassing, damaging property but stealing one of the three cameras as well, but other than that never had one taken from an actual game trail...yet!

It's a risk you take.

99% of the time you should be good but there is always the chance... Some lowlife out there who will take someone else's hard earned property.

Some camo wrap, twigs, moss, whatever... would stack things in your favour if you're worried.

There are some models that have a SIM inside. They send the image or video directly to your mobile phone.
I purchased one but unfortunately it only operates on the 2G network. doesn't work in my area which is a shame.

Yeah, a lot of it is going to come down to location.

you can get cables to make it harder to steal than just cutting a strap,,the bad news is it just makes it harder, not impossible

At least people aren't likely to be walking around the bush with a pair of bolt cutters.

Anything to help protect your cam is good I'd say.

A chainsaw can sort out any of your security, best bet it to camo em well. Thieves will be thieves and will go to some extraordinary lengths to get things at times.

Need to get something like a paintball claymore.

Set them all up tripping around your trailcam to put off would be thieves
