Camping and hair dryers

Post by hiyoh » 17 Oct 2013, 1:53 pm

I tell ya... It's mind boggling how oblivious people are to what's happening outside sometimes...

A few mates and I have been planning a pretty gentle camping trip for us and the girls... Driving to the site, maybe a short walk and camping for a night or two.

We're discussing what's what, and somehow one of the girls gets onto packing her hair dryer...

No one clicked at first and after a few jokes we realised she was serious. She genuinely thought there would be somewhere to plug in her hair dryer in the forest.

As the icing on the cake, my mate now has to dig up an inverter for her before we go camping so that she can walk back to the car and plug in her 240v dryer.

God...

What a saga for 2 days camping

Anyone looking for a new camping buddy?

LoL.
Better tell your mate the inverter wont work for the hair dryer.

I have an inverter in my 4b, and it works with most stuff, but not her hair dryer and straightener. She tried to save time going to a wedding one day to do her hair in the car, but the power draw is too high for the inverter.

In general, a lot of girls I know are more than capable at 'roughing it' once they understand teh conditions. They probably have never been camping before but end up always enjoying it.

As long as you don't take any mirrors with you ha ha.

Ah yes, the joys of introducing friends to the great outdoors.

It has taken me twenty odd years but I have trimmed my wife down from three suitcases to just one duffel bag and a beauty case for a weekend's camping.

I think it is a girl thing.
