The triaxle trailer that I built was fantastic for long trips, and holding weight (sometimes well over the legal limit)
The old girl has done me proud and covered an awful lot of kilometers, and now I decided that the long haul trip days are all but finished, and
I'm done with excessive weight loads.
One particular load remains vivid in memory,,, a trip to the metal recyclers where to my surprise the weigh bridge informed me that I had 4 1/2 ton on it.
I knew I was well over weight, but not to that extent.
So now I have just finished a major modification, and rejuvination on it.
Gone is the 3rd axle and the other two axles relocated to rebalance everything.
As it will now bear more weight through the draw bar, that too has been beefed up.
I have made 2/3 of the checker plate floor bolt in, bolt out, and now I have the choice of full floor or or only 1/3 at the rear.
With the addition of bolt in grid mesh runners, it is much lighter and great for transporting cars or my tractors.
And if I want to cart gravel or firewood etc, it only takes 1/2 hr to put the full floor back in again.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.
