Sure beats squatting down to give birth to a brown snake , my least favorite part of roughing it in the scrub !

We had a young fella up this way a few years ago that used a log for that purpose only problem was a real brown snake was also fond of that log and must have got jealous or something and bit him right on the tackle lucky it didn't put any venom in the bite

Very funny Albat.

Cable ties, duct tape, rope, pegs and a small bag of dry twigs and based on recent experience snake bite kit from now until the end of time.

Also not small or really inexpensive but an extra sleeping bag. If one gets wet or you drastically underestimate how cold it's going to get you can put one inside the other.

The heavy duty bags that dry dog food comes in. They are tough, have a zip lock to shut in any smells and make a great rubbish bag.

I bought one of these yesterday.

My daughter bought one and found a bag of ice from the servo lasts about 4 days. Heaps better than any eski I have ever owned. I was amazed. So I ordered, one the next day.

Is there some secret to getting them to cut well ? I've got one and its flaming useless even with a new blade it gets stuck all the time. Far less energy to use an axe in the end than mine

baby wipes
spare thick socks
garbage bags

The rest depends on the type of camping: hunting, kayaking, bush camping, camping grounds camping, etc ...

Make sure you open the cut up as you saw through the branch so it doesn't pinch the blade. The other possibility is you just have weak arms , do you even lift bro? ;)

Yes. They are designed to cut green timber. They'll cut seasoned timber but not as well as an old fashioned hand saw in my experience. Also make sure there is enough set on the teeth. The cheap s**t Chinese ones don't have enough set and are barely as wide as the kerf of the blade, consequently the wet wood pinches the blade as it swells slightly after it's cut and it's almost impossible to make a perfectly straight cut using a bow saw.

A shovel can be pretty handy too. Digs toilets, trench around tent to divert water and makes a damn good hot plate over some coals.
