The best ammo ive used for a long time was cci subsonic segmented hollow points. It drops rabbits on the spot to 50m plus. Unfortunately its not imported anymore.

It's funny, but I tested those real quiet 22 rounds like the Rem Cee-bees and CCI Quiets, and concluded that they were only good for about 20- 30 m.
I felt they dropped in accuracy and killing power after that.
I shot an Indian Mynor, and it crawled off and sat under a farm truck.
An old Aussie Win sub finished it off in an instant.

On a forum discussion, an old experienced hunter praised the CCI segmented Quiets.
Well, I got a pack, and they shot reasonably well to 50m.
They cost a fair bit more, but I got a brick as they can have their place, and it seems the segmented ones kill OK.

I got a brick of the more std type CCI HP subs, as my Aussie Win subs won't last forever, and not using the new Wincrapper.
They don't shoot quite as well as std RN CCI can, but will be fine as a hunting round, and the HP is a decent size.

The segmented quiet at 745fps (chronographed) vs the segemented subsonic 1050fps are quite a different beast. Here is the subsonic segmented dropping rabbits without even a kick with chest shots.

I have 100 round packet of the CCI Segmented 1235fps stuff but haven't shot any rabbits with it. In generally I find the less noise, the less spooked they are. Last time I did some serious control I shot 14 in the space of 40 minutes in 3 acres. If I'd been using anything louder most of the rabbits would have gone to ground.

Yeah, why would you want the crack, and noise when HP subs in the chest drop rabbits dead so easily?

When I started, I first thought you could just about hit the dirt in front of them with a HP sub, and they drop dead.
