Hi Mick,

I've got the XT-22 and I like it a lot.

I read some reviews on them when I got mine a while ago and there were mixed feelings on them. A few people seem to have quality control concerns for them.

Apparently there have been a few which were hit or miss for accuracy, but mine shoots straight and they're pretty cheap. So no complaints from me.

I've got one too, the XT-22RO.

I haven't had any problems with mine either, and I'm just shooting cheap CCI ammo.

There is always someone putting it down, no matter what you're looking at.

As long as there are plenty of good reviews for things I'm usually keen enough to overlook the odd bad one.

There is no shortage of people shooting Marlin rifles so they're doing something right.

My son in-law purchased a Stainless Marlin 22lr 4 yrs ago & it is a great little bolt action. Very accurate. I had a Marlin in the lever action 30 30 yrs ago (336 if I recall correctly) & was later sorry I sold it to buy a winchester 70. Purchased a 3006 XL7 bolt action about 3 yrs ago & never been happier. Very light and shoots better than I can. And just put an order in for a a 223 XL7 bolt action. I think I have become a Marlin fan, inexpensive, accurate, light weight, reliable, but generally not flashy. :D

There are always a few unsatisfied customers.

I can't speak for the XT22 specifically, but half a dozen mates of mine have Marlin's ranging from old to new models and they all shoot well.

I find Googling for shot group photos is usually a good test of a rifle.

If there are people posting photos of good groups that's a good sign.
See you on the firing line.
