"early 2014 for Aus" according to where I often shop - http://www.claytonfirearms.com.au/produ ... ot-clayton

$550ish retail for one.

I haven't got one yet but it's bright on my Radar.

It'll be for replacing an old clunker for me, and trying something new.

Two birds with one stone.

What was the outlay for a clean rifle if you don't mind me asking.

through my lgs about $550 for the rifle, then have ammo, scope, mounts. and two extra magazines(about $50-60) all up it'll come in under a grand. Split between my brother and I, its cheap. Wallaby, rabbit, feral cat, dog. if its strong enough maybe a goat or two. The rifle is brand new.

That's a good price I would think. Considering there between $299 & $349 in the states. I just bought a x-bolt varmint from over there for around the $1250 mark. That includes freight & all the crap you have to pay to have them sent over. So for $550 I think that's not a bad price at all.

Instead of waiting 6 months+ for win aus to do something that would of cost me $1640 for the rifle. My local suggested ordering it direct.

I bought one a few days ago from Gunsmoke in Bathurst, NSW. $AU550 and $AU25 a box of 50 rounds. Gunsmoke usually give a 10% discount on ammo if you buy ten boxes or more,so I bought a brick of 500 20Gr rounds and two 50 round boxes of 25Gn rounds. Good deal! My mate bough one as well and there were four rifles in stock after we left the shop.

Lightweight, well balanced rifle. Cock on closing spreads workload over the two bolt operations and seemed a bit stiff. I am sure it will slicken up nicely. Comes with Weaver bases already fitted. No spare mags available yet it seems.

I just got home from there today, good to see use got 20mm last night & more to come. Not a fan of the bloke that owns that joint but the older bloke is really nice. That's a good price on the rifle, I'm pretty sure it's about the same as one of the big Sydney shops i seen. It would be good to have a look at how it goes. I'll be in trunky soon if your interested.

I'd liked to see Lithgow bring out the new LA101 in .17WSM - something new and different and not what everyone else is flogging AND in left handed too.

I've been thinking of one for foxes and feral cats.
