I have a Vortex Crossfire II 4-16x50 on my CZ455 (currently in 17HMR).

Nice clear optics, 30mm tube, light for it's size and great value for the money (Cost me around $500 at the time), but I dont know if I'll buy another of that style.

I'm not against Vortex as a brand; just this model has the parallax adjust on the end of the objective lens, and that gets bloody annoying.
A mate has a higher-specced Vortex on his .223, and it has the parallax adjust on the turrets, which works for me.

I chose the scope because it was bigger than I'd ever need for the .22, but about good for what the .17HMR can shoot.
And it has been a great choice for size to suit the .17's capabilities.
I didnt expect too much from a pretty budget scope, and I've been quite surprised/impressed.
I cant fault the scope for what I've shot with it in just 3 months, but I wish I'd gone with one with the turret adjust.

I also prefer side parallax.
Have you checked the Sidewinder range?
I have the 10-50x60, it's outstanding, particularly combined with their X-Act phone app balistic calculator.

I have a Bushnell Banner in 3-9 x 40 on my HMR. I find this to be perfectly adequate for the shooting I do: which is predominately spotlighting for bunnies out of my car. I have a 4-16x50 Hawke on my 204, and I find that I need to dial the magnification back when spotlighting as the exit pupil gets too small and the image becomes too dim. So in my experience of night shooting is extra magnification much above 10 x isn’t all that useful.
