Got my Brno no.2

Well here she is. Dated 83, I did a strip and clean as I do with all used firearms I buy. Action was very grubby, bore looks great. The stock has the usual minor dings but I can live with that. Shame the rear sight is missing. Not sure if the Nikko 4x32 is staying yet, I have a spare leupold VX-1 3x9x40 sitting around as an option. Overall I think she come up a treat. Not bad for $550. Can't wait to see how she shoots! Cheers guys.

Mate,

Saw this yesterday:

https://www.premiumopticsaustralia.com. ... sing-used/

No idea if it's still available, but it looks like it was updated today?

Cheers,

Rod.

Thanks rod, $195 ouch! I hope I can find a rear sight a lot cheaper than that. In no hurry.

Is the Number 1 sight the same? I see Rebel Gun Works have some parts for the Brno rimfires, and think I saw a rear sight for a No. 1.

Nice rifle mate and even better price.
I’ve seen them in worse condition go for bigger money!
The rear sight and front sight hood were often the first things taken off to fit a scope and a lot of the times they were lost.
You’ll come across those parts cheap enough.

The model 1 sights are completely different.

Obviously you’ll set up the rifle to suit your purpose but you’ll find them very accurate with the open sights. Otherwise a fixed power like your Nikko 4x would be a perfect match.

Keep it oiled, don’t clean the bore and it’ll shoot straight for you for years to come! :drinks:

Try Wattle Grove Park in Qld, they were selling rear sight leaves for the No2 recently, may still have one. Nice looking rifle, better looking timber than my 2E, and easily as good as my No1, Cheers.

Got my young bloke a 1990 2E for his first rifle ( spoilt bugger wish I had one at 14 )
He just loves it and I have to be reminding him not to polish the blueing away ( haha )
It is an interesting rifle with CMC australian mountaineer markings on the barrel ( must have been an import type deal )
Shoots beautifully for a 29 year old that's done a few kays !
