Yep....I even took one off my 458 coz it's just a waste of time and not necessary....just make guns loud. Be great if all you did was shoot targets with ear muffs on....don't always get that luxury in the field. But that's a flipping excellent price for that rifle. I'd be interested to handle one to see how light it is[/quote]

That’s not the case with the right brake BigPete.....(except for the loud bit!) I’ve got one on a 45-70 that works a bloody treat.
But I have no idea why it would be a factory fit on a 22LR.
Ripper looking little rifle though!!
Nice buy!
Keep calm......and hold centre of mass.

Not to dig this thread back up, but how do you actually like the rifle? I'm looking at the Carbon, rather than the thumbhole - thoughts? You said alright for hunting, have you had much of an opportunity to chase some bunnies with it yet?

I have/had a few 22s inc. lithgow (had). for that money the CZ455 is a good buy if you don't mind 90 degree bolt and bolt handle a little short and small

not yet go hunting with CZ but I reckon the CZ will be much better than lithgow especially if you remove the carbon sleeve, it will be much easy to carry and handle

OK, that makes sense. Apologies to any who took offence (but I'd prefer a solid piece).
