Ruger rimfire precision and 10/22 mag

Post by Faedy » 03 Jun 2020, 10:21 am

I've purchased a Ruger precision .22 for my son.
I still have a few Ruger 10/22 mags.
Are all these rotary style interchangeable?

Generally yes, but not always. Apparently there can be some differences to prevent using 10rd+ mags in Ruger pistols. Not having a Charger I can't confirm this myself. I have 10/22 mags that I'm sure I've used in my RPR, but I generally use the non-rotary BX-15 in everything nowadays, I've never been a fan of the Ruger rotary mag.

Does your RPR come with a BX-15 pinned at 10rds?

I have 25 round lucky 13 mags for my Ruger American 22LR. I think they will fit the precision mate. QLD and WA have unlimited cat A mags mate so have a look for some of them. Lucky 13 stopped making new products a few months back so these 25 round mags that sold for $130 are now around $250 as the remaining stock is nearly at zero. They made 15 round mags too for the southern states.

Check with NIOA in Brisbane, as they are the Aus Ruger importers. Just to be sure.

Yeah need a torques bit bang it in lightly with a hammer, remove the follower and the piece of reticulation hose is down the bottom of the mag, only to be done in stares where larger mags are legal
