Well just for an update.
I found a stock to mate it into and bedded the back action toe? Area just before the trigger set up and the sides and Knox form to about half way to the key way where the centre screw should be.
This gives me a screw roughly in the middle to tighten the action down on to with two point bedding with one screw.
It is just snugged into the stock.
I’m sure I could bend the action if one was ham fisted.
This gives me a free float.
Gave the barrel a good clean out and to my surprise it has only 4 bulges in the barrel.
Two near the chamber that could be missed and another about half way up.
The main big one is near the muzzle.
Any hoo with cci std it settled in
And seems to shoot on the perimeter of a sticky dot 20mm?
It will shoot of a few wild flyers now and then but also clusters, Stings, and half moons.
I suppose an inch at 50yrds seems and honest report so far with cci std but it will shoot clusters tight and stacking but it’s not there yet.
It could be the stock and trigger.
The stock seems to vibrate or transmit vibrations on firing which seems a little odd.
It could be because of my cheek bone on the stock maybe riding off it on ignition or the angle of the stock butt.
Seems very touchy on the bags but better if I snuggle into it firmly.
I think I will hack at the stock abit and see what happens.
I did touch up the crown but I may need to set it back as if feels it’s getting wider and the muzzle just before the rod pokes out.
I did try some of that more expensive Eley sport green pack stuff and it shot tighter and more a consistent clusters.
But keep the rest of my one packet for later trials.
The cci tends to feel a slightly better fit than the Eley in the chamber thou and is cheaper and don’t stink.
Don’t want to have to sell me dog for scientific experiments to feed the damn thing if it’s got champagne tastes.
Being so long since I have shot a rabbit in the head.
How big is my kill,zone?
I thought it was the size of a match box but you don’t see them around anymore either to measure anyway.
Ha.
I will play with the old girl and expend some more time and ammo and see if I can sort her out.
It does seems strange being right handed gun and the trigger and stock don’t feel the same as my other rifle I’ve fired for the last 30-40 years.
Who woulda thunk it?
Ha.
Thanks for the reply’s.
I would post a pitcher if I node how.
