Brno Mod 2 rear sight

Post by Tiger650 » 27 Jul 2021, 7:05 pm

Hello folks and need assistance.
Need to remove the rear sight assembly from a 1957 model Brno 2.
Possibly a simple process but better to ask than damage something.

If yours is the same as mine, and I remember correctly,
They look like they're pinned bit they're not.
It's a fixed pivot.
Press the sight down and pull back, it should slide out.
You may need to manoeuvre the spring to free it.

I remember trying to punch the pin out of mine before discovering that's not how it's fitted.

He is spot on.
Push down and slide back to remove the leaf.
The band is pinned and soldered. The band is also where the take down screw goes in so you really should not try and remove this.
The spring for the leaf slides out.
Don't lose any of it. They are expensive to replace
One well placed shot is all it takes.

Not only expensive, some models changed slightly over the years and so very scarce.
