Anyone load shot charges in metallic cartridges?

Mostly querying 357 or 44 cartridge type loads. Not that I have a lot of\ use for them, but I notice supplies of factory stuff is just about done. Anyone have any recipes?

I once made a few mild loads in .357M cases with an over powder wad, 9 shot (from 12G cartridges), and an over shot wad sealed with PVA glue. Intended targets were scaly critters around a campsite we used to visit but I never used them for the intended purpose so can't vouch for their effectiveness against anything except clay targets at about 5m.

Yes,I used to modify 303 shells to use in my rossi 44 mag using equal amounts by volume of 7.5 shot and trailboss with cardboard wads. Worked very well out to 10m on stuff up to the size of crows, beyond that it was essentially useless

I used to load 410 with 303 cases and just used a swipe of silicon to seal the mouth worked ok for wriggle sticks and other pests around the sheds .

Did a little experimenting a while back never finalized a load.
Don't believe I'll ever shoot to many but they are entertaining for all who have shot them.
The silver tops are aluminium gas checks, roll crimped in place.

Filled the case with shot, weighed max payload then backed the payload back until I could fit it with an appropriate powder charge.
These are 357mag cases with somewhere around 90gn? (without checking notes) depending on pellet size.
The clear plastic is cut from CD cover, roll crimped

Cardboard over powder card hammered out of retail packaging using a outside sharpened case.
Card seated against powder with finger pressure into case web using a 32-20 case.

I used to load 9’s in a 45/70 shot out of a Marlin Guide gun. Pattern was very good at 5 meters but at 10 meters you had a donut pattern….. nothing in the middle with radial spread most likely from the rifling.

With rat shot being so expensive in 22 and 357 it makes sense to roll your own. Trailboss is what I would be useing in the absence of solid data. Can’t see myself stuffing that up
