I don't have any issue shooting off-hand (I actually prefer the pistol grip for off-hand), but for carrying, a chassis rifle is likely to be heavier than preferable for most of us. Probably not to the extent that you won't take it but you certainly need to be aware of it before you head out. Removing the scope to carry it in a safe hard case is a good option to protect the scope and make the rifle lighter and more manageable - you can mount the scope when you get into the area you're looking to hunt in. A single-point sling also makes the weight of the rifle less of an issue as it simply hangs across your shoulders, freeing up both hands. But a polymer carbine with a red-dot or 1-6x optic is going to be significantly lighter to carry for several days of bush walking. For farm work I think most people are using vehicles and perhaps having a stroll after driving to likely places on the properties.
