I missed the reloading suggestion... if I reload for other calibres now, why not just load down a 223, or 22 Hornet?
Hornet, I can't actually think of a logical reason for one of those here, and by the time I buy special fragile lightweight 223 projectiles, scratch around for primers, more light-load-only-suitatable squib load powders, AND the time loading another cartridge, AND having to re-sight the rifle to use this stuff then waste ammo resighting for full power stuff it's not worth my time.
And, it will end up being more cost. So, not even worth considering for me. But everyone has different circumstances and value in time.

Agreed about the Hornet. You should be fine with most varmint-design bullets, especially if you're head-shooting. If you reload you should already have plenty of primers. Use AR2207 for the powder if you don't have Trailboss, AR2206H or any pistol/shotshell powders.

You don't need to re-zero for them. I keep my standard 220m-ish zeros for my full-power loads and practice with the reduced loads at 50m to 100m to learn where I need to hold for close targets using a BDC reticle. For the .223 I use the Gameking 55gn bullet, which Cleaver sells very cheap - from about 15-20 cents apiece at 1750fps. Add a primer and ten cents worth of powder. And I can load them quicker than I can go into town and buy ammo.

And a 55gn bullet is going be better in any wind, and hit harder at longer distances, while keeping the option of dropping in a full-power load whenever I need to, without needing a second rifle.

Oh, ammo price in the US is about 27-cents a round on Midway.
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1027625019?pid=291667
Which is 2.25 times the price of MiniMags also from Midway.
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1301225774?pid=561225
And about 15% more than Eley Match.
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1301225774?pid=561225

I was amazed to find that Shooter's Shed in Perth actually have it listed at A$39/100rds, but I don't think they've ever actually imported any so the price isn't realistic. https://www.shootersshed.com.au/winchester-21sharp.html

Ammunition Galore lists Eley Match at $37.20/50rds, or 75 cents a shot.
https://www.ammunitiongalore.com.au/index_files/Eley_Ammunition.php

So I would expect .21 Sharp to be close to a buck a round if we ever see it here. But that's a lot better than I would've thought.

People still pay stupid punch-in-the-face prices for PRC calibres to sail with the trends, as an example, and they don't achieve anything new either. Those prices will come down eventually, just as other ammo cals have after the public realises that they are being ripped. Just like .21 will

I haven't seen one informed reason that this cartridge won't be fun to use. Nobody here has used one. From what is online already, the same things apply to any rimfire/firearm combination together, that is, rimfire rifles are notoriously finnicky about ammo brands, and I haven't seen a quality rimfire brand represented yet. Nothing new.

Myself, because we have a few 77/22's and 10/22's here, I can just buy a barrel when they come out and fit it in a few minutes. Cleavers will bring them in.

This guy even tests the .21 in a .22LR rifle.
