Just putting things back in order after a VicPol storage inspection and firearm audit and thought I'd post a few pics of this old Trainer, a Model 1919 NRA rifle made in 1920 going by the serial number, 1st Model with the narrow rectangular ejection port which changed in 1923, these early models also had twin striker firing pins which Savage dropped in the 1933 New M19 Trainer. This rifle still shoots remarkably well.
Twin firing-pins - you'll never have a "fail to fire". Also used in the BSA Ralock (semi-auto, no longer allowed to play with) and Freedom Arms 22 revolvers, amongst others.
