If you want a milsurp rifle to stuff around with they are about for around the $200 mark. There are plenty of sproterised .303's about for $250, M38/96 Swedes for about the same (or less).

Hell, when I was after a 357 magnum based on a Cadet the rifle was only $50 and the conversion (parts only I did the rest) $200 yet I was chastised at the range for ruining a unique piece of Australian history. ("go fook yourself and mind your own business" shut the noisy prick up).

Once again, many of these ex military rifles are as common as muck, nice to own and use but still common.
