Sako Finnfire 2

I would like to buy a 'premium' rimfire and am leaning towards the Sako Finnfire 2.

Are there any current owners about ?

Any comments would be appreciated.

My son's got a Quad, the Finnfire II is pretty similar, it's a good gun but for around the same price I'd go for an Anschutz
I've got an Anschutz MPR and I feel its a better gun all round.
There's always room for at least one more gun in my safe.

You can't go wrong with a Sako of course.

This is just my personal opinion but for the price point I think it's hard to justify for a rimfire. You can pick up something from the Anschutz 1517, 1516 or 1416 families for about the same for the 1517 and a hundred or two less for the latter two models.

Can't beat the Annies for the same money when talking rimfire.

I've said this previously so forgive me if I sound like a broken record....buy the Sako Quad, sell whatever barrel comes with it and buy the Lilja match barrel's. It'll be up there with the Anschutz with the added benefit of swapping calibres if you so desire.
How's my posting?

Only thing I can't stand about the quad is the barrel coming out at an angle so the scope has to be removed.

Kills it for me.

I totally agree .
I've owned a few switch barrel rifles ( still own one ) and I quickly learnt that to fully maximise the concept the scope has to be attached to the barrel , not the receiver .

There are quads where the barrel pulls out forward though so no need to reset the scope each time.

Is it the CZ? I think.

Wouldn't you have to re site the rifle after caliber swap anyway?

Yes. Burris made a scope for the Quad that had three colour coded rings on the elevation turret; one for each chambering. Didn't seem that popular because they went out of production after a couple of years.

"they" ?
Burris ?
So, todays Quad no longer has the 'advantage' of whatever Burris once provided ?

"They" as in the scope.... couldn't find one to buy in 2013. Dunno who or why it was decided to discontinue production.
The Quad is just another switch barrel rimfire; albeit a rather nice one. If they came in lefty, i'd defo get one with a 22lr & 22wrm barrel.

In my experience (CZ switch barrel), definitely yes. As you know, you need to re-sight most guns even after swapping ammo.
