Suggestion for 17HMR bore guide, please?

Post by juststarting » 09 Sep 2015, 10:34 pm

Can anyone recommend a bore guide for a 17HMR? The ejector is in the way, to fit a normal bore guide, so need something a lot narrower in diameter.

E.g.

Anything I could locally online, would be good.

thanks

Have you used them before on 17HMR with ejector just off the middle of the f'n chamber?

Uh, okay, I see, they are the exact thing I want to avoid. It's open, meaning half the solvent from the patch is going to drip into the chamber, exactly what the guide is there to avoid. I did see them before and wondered, what a retarded opposite product. Like, why would they cut half away, may as well not use a bore guide.

I just found a mob in UK that sells them, but now I am just thinking of getting some rigid aquarium hosing and just using that.

It's just a plastic tube so if that'll do there is no reason to spend more on a bore guide.

How much are you having drip into the chamber as is? You're patch doesn't need to be soaked, just enough to coat the barrel spread thin (as you might know).
