I went to Leupold's web site:https://www.leupold.com/ They don't have an 8.5x to 25x scope.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

If you check the Questions and Answer section they answer a question about using the scope on a rimfire. The scope is set for parallax from either 75 yard or 150 yard onwards, depending of model. I think you'd do okay with focus, but parallax will be a problem.

i checked the model. has adjustable parallax 40m to infinity. i think i could make this work at 25m if it will focus.

If it's purely a range rifle, why not a fixed power scope? Weaver do the T-series, i believe.

The Mk4 LR/T Leupold scope is indeed 8.5-25x50

Just tried mine in the yard and at 25m it won't focus, ill try tomorrow in the daylight just to confirm but don't count on it working. I have a few of the Mk 4 LR/T scopes on the shorter range target rifles and quite like them. Barrett use them on the M98B coupled tot he BORS system so they must be reasonable but expect to pay around the $1800 range if you can find one. For that sort of coin I'd be looking at something from the high end of the Vortex range or saving a bit longer and going to a Kahles or S&B and if money is no issue then buy a March Scope.

They're not too bad pricewise compared to some others, the one I'm in the process of ordering is $4150 which gives me 8-80x56. The bare rifle will come to around $12k by the time it's built so 1/3 rifle price for the scope isn't out of the realm of reasonable.

For A$800 you can buy a new VX-2 6-18x40 AO with fine reticle which will focus down to 25m. There's even a target model with CDS for just a little more coin.

What if you buy a $100k custom built fancy shotgun?

For $30k for a dot scope on it it'll want to be magical, fly around hunting and bringing game back for you
