Pics direct from iPhone can be too large. Edit them with a minor crop and they usually load ok.

Hi guys small little problem on my new rifle. As I said before I couldn't get my ruger so went with just savage gxp. It came with a bushnell 3-9x40 however the two turrets don't have any MOA markings on them. So far cant track down the right bushnell model. Thinking of changing the scope , what do you think?

Take the turret caps off, mate! They will just screw off.

They just don't have any markings

Sorry, just that sometimes we can miss the bleeding obvious!

Take it back if possible.... Not saying it is but it Could be a knockoff. Never seen a scope with no adjustment stadia or model markings for that matter!

Unless someone else has a better idea of WTF is going on!?!

I know. Got bushnell and 3-9x40 on it waterproof and no markings or model number.
My 223 has a bushnell on it so looks legit. But who knows.

What do you mean they're not caps?
Why are they knurled if not so you can unscrew them?

Lol, don't worry when I first looked I felt a little dumb and said it's just caps. But no, moves the crosshairs and no markings. The rifle is fine just scope with no markings odd.

They don't screw off. Turn all you like they are not coming off. They look like caps your right. They aren't coming off.

It appears to be a Bushnell Banner, or possibly a Chinese knock-off.

After the Redfield I got with my American I won't bother with the package deals ever again.

I starting to get that feeling. The funny thing is the 3-9x40 markings are under the scope close to the rings. So I am starting to think your right, Could be a knock off.

I was looking at the Lithgow since I wanted to support Australian but according to the forums here a lot of members seem to be having issues with them? not sure if this is confirmed but it was enough to sort of turn me off the LA101 sadly. I'm now leaning towards the CZ 455.

For a scope like that it's highly likely to be be 1/4 moa clicks. Easy way to find out - shoot it off a bench @ 50m, change by 8 clicks, then mesaure the distance between the groups. It should be offset by 1inch. If it's 2 inches the you know it's 1/2 moa clicks etc. That scope is perfectly adequate for the rifle - no need to change.
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?

At 50m 2 MOA is about 29mm.... just to be pedantic :)

I went through this dilemma recently and couldn't pass up the new toy I picked up today, 452 American with a vortex crossfire rimfire 2-7, all scoped up with a bag and sling for less than a bare lithgow, no brainer for me.

I went through a similar thing and narrowed it down to Ruger, 452/455 or Lithgow.
In the end i went with the Lithgow because the others felt/looked cheap in comparison imho.

I have put over 500 rounds through the LA101 and haven't had a single feed issue. I bought another magazine last week.

CCI ammo shoots great in mine (standard, segmented quiet and segmented HP)... i have velocitors but haven't shot them yet. Eley HP is also very tight.

Hi guys, thanks for all the help worked out my problem. They are caps and yes could not get the off for love nor money so took it to the shop. They got them off and found a sticky substance on the thread that had hardend and end up cutting them off. So all good.

Sorry for all the panicking, as some who never had any trouble with 223. I guess I overreacted.

I did hear ,can't remember where, that can't use CCI velocitors in savage 22. Anyone know why? Not a major drama as don't have them just strange bit of info.

Every rifle will shoot differently with different ammo. Just one of those things. Even the same make and model may well shoot differently with the same ammo. Recommendations are just something to try; no guarantee they'll go well or otherwise in your particular rifle.
