Yes, it's true. Everyone else in Australia can use AusPost, but not WA - we need to use a courier. All it does is add to the price of everything.

Sportco 10a just up on ozgunsales for $245. These things are rock solid and is the same action used in the sportco hornet so it is over engineered for a rimfire. One of the first sportco models made and ready to go. The 63a is a more refined rifle but these are strong.

Sorry. I just put this in the wrong topic. That’s why it made no sense whatsoever.

After a bit of an issue with the bedding on my new Weihrauch Thumbhole, Alcock & Pierce came to the party and sent me a new Jagdmatch stock to try, as well as another Thumbhole stock and a single trigger. I get to keep what I want and send the rest back, with an extra $100 for the JM stock if I want - which is really a work of art.

Anyway, finally got down the range yesterday and tried some SK Standard Plus and SK Rifle Match ammo. The range is indoors at 35m. When I played my part, the rifle was putting five shots through one hole.

I also swapped back to the Thumbhole stock and played with the torque settings and got it to shoot pretty good as well, but not quite as consistently as the Jagdmatch stock.

The moral of the story is, if you buy one of these get the Jagdmatch version or, if you prefer the HW60 or HW66 walkaround versions, they will probably respond well to being bedded. My version doesn't have the heavy barrel, but shoots as well as I could ask for.

The factory inletting in the JM stock is about as good as it gets in a factory production rim fire - Very precise with plenty of rigidity - No pillars of any description and not required IMO - My JM rifle is one of the most consistent I currently have.
The HW60 hogs back stock inletting on mine is not nearly as precise as the JM and groups reflected this. A decent set of professionally installed pillars made a significant improvement.
I'm very pleased to hear that Alcock and Pierce have worked with Flyer to obtain a satisfactory outcome.

thanks allan, might look into pillars. the action looks like it would be fussy to bed with resin compound

As Allan said, the Jagdmatch stock does't come with pillars, but the HW60 Production and Thumbhole both do. If I were to bed one, I would replace the flimsy stock pillars with something a little more substantial and then bed it front and back, a bit like Allan has done.

I can't make up my mind at the moment if I want to keep the Jagdmatch stock - which is about 450g heavier - or the Thumbhole. The JM is clearly the better stock, but I like the Thumbhole, too, as it's nicely balanced and has a slight longer length of pull. If I keep the Thumbhole, I will definitely bed it.

Another up-date for this thread.
I decided to upgrade one of these Weihrauch HW60 actions. I had the receiver threaded and fitted with a match chambered 3 groove Benchmark. I then dropped it into the Running Boar stock. I think it looks OK - Certainly different. I've just started a bit of ammo testing but it's clearly going to be a very accurate 22.
Flyer...If you see this, I scored another of these old Weaver Grand Slams in mint condition from a RFC contact in Arizona - Makes a good combo. with the stainless barrel.

Hi Allen,
its only a couple of years later, but if you are still around, I'm chasing some info.
Do you know of any company anywhere in the world that does aftermarket stocks for a HW66JM
I own one and absolutely love it, it out shoots all my others including the Annie Match 64 and is faultless.
I shoot a fair bit of Metallic Silhouette, but the stock on the Jagd Match doesn't meet the rules.
It is a beautiful piece of timber, and I cant bring myself to chop it up. Alcock and Pierce don't currently have any spares.

Hi Mick:
Yes, I'm still around but not sure for how much longer - Just completed treatment for my THIRD cancer diagnosis and now waiting for the results of a PET scan I had this week.

On a brighter note, the only company I know doing a Weihrauch HW60/66 inlet is FORM Rifle Stocks in the UK. Raytrade are agents for them here in Australia.

I tried to buy a CRUSADER TAC for my rifles when Covid was raging around the world & gave up after months of exploring all the options.

I contacted Cameron Hatcher - He could inlet one of his stock options for the HW60/66 but needed one of my stocks to use as a template - Cameron couldn't guarantee that my stock wouldn't suffer minor damage (which I completely understand) so I just kept the HW60J in its hogs back stock & the HW66JM in its factory stock.

I've since gone down the Remington 700 foot print style rim fires road and acquired the likes of Bergara, Vudoo & Rim X. My opinion of these Weihrauch rifles hasn't changed though. They are one of the "sleepers" of the rim fire world & there's not much out there offering comparable quality and accuracy at anywhere near the price point.

Allan.
