Rossi Pump .22

Post by bronco93 » 28 May 2018, 4:23 pm

I got my hands on a old Rossi pump .22. Was in pieces. Anyway finally got around to putting it together. And so I was cycling the action and it will not let me cycle a second time without pulling the trigger. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Would not be good if I had an unfired round in the chamber and wanted to clear the rifle without firing it.
Cheers

General rule with many pump actions, the action is locked upon closing to prevent OOB discharges. Not sure on Rossi 22's but on the Remington Fieldmaster 572 there is a small button on the triggerguard to unlock the action without firing it.

Does it have an external hammer? If so, try lowering the hammer and see if that allows it to cycle.

I think they are a copy of a 62a Winchester, so as Bladeracer says -hammer down to cycle. Also check that the pin isn't hitting the chamber if you are dry firing it

Yeah guys so I just had a look at it again. Turns out when I tried lowering the hammer I wasnt lowering all the way. I can either lower the hammer all the way or I can press where the hammer strikes with my finger
