New property venture. (Dogs)

Well, tonite i’m on a new property. First night and bcos its a fair distance from home I’m camping in an onsite donga for the duration. Don’t know how many nights for just yet though. The owner tells me there is a resident pack of dogs that have been counted which numbers 22 dogs. In all the years Ive hunted dogs i’ve never come across a pack that big. Usually 10 onwards they drive the excess out to a life of their own. Not sitting out tonite, I decided to let the trail cameras do the work, which i’ll check first thing in the morning and play the game accordingly.

Good luck. Consider attractants, ("bait", not 1080) such as pee, fish or meat.
Consider subsonics as an option if you have the chance (hard to do...)

Yeah Mate,, Attractants ??? You’d die with ya leg in the air laughing if you were here. There is a piggery on the property, and the dogs apparently dine in the carcass pit. And i’ve got the works when it comes to the ammo dept. .308 HP subs, .223 BT’s, .22 HP subs.

Many years ago I used to do a lot of trail biking in the yabbra range near Urbenville and Woodenbong.

One evening, on my way back to camp, I was on north yabbra road heading south, cruising between 60 to 80kph.
I would round a bend, and find myself in a pack of at least 20 to 30 dogs.
This happened about 5 or 6 times in that trip home.

It didn't scare the s**t out of me, however I did feel vulnerable, but didn't have time to sink in, untill the next pack. .
They literally had nowhere to run but with me. Some jumped off the edge, and others attempted to climb the steep face on the left, however I was going faster than they were running, so as I past them they would turn the other way untill I thinned the group.
Then 2 or 300m further up the track, same again.

One of the most bizzare experiences I've had around dogs.
Trying to hunt them, theyre like phantoms, bjt here I am, unarmed, in packs of 20+

Gooduck out there.
