Another warm Saturday was endured at one of my patches...the cars metal got so hot that resting bare skin on it was a challenge . I suppose that's what happens when shooting in the middle of a paddock with no shade , no cloud cover and a forecast of over 30c. 8)
Anyway, I chose this spot which is just right for the 22-250, I kept the range to around 500yds because mirage was a problem and the range finder refused to read any further.
No point in going over the various ranges cos it only varied by 5yds starting from 500 so a flat 6.2moa adjustment for elevation was all that was necessary.
The first three targets were all kittens and made very challenging targets, with winds varying from 0-7.5 mph, windage adjustments varied from 1.0-3.0 moa.
The last one was hit through the chest, but managed to fall into his burrow and disappear...I love using the 250 but I better back off a little , my mate at the local GS reckons ammo is getting thin again

Yep watched the video, great stuff as usual. That's the only thing that puts me off the 22-250 short supply of ammo. Sucks big time. As I have not ventured into reloading. That sako looks as sweet as. Bunnies at that range any time would be difficult.

Thanks Sam, yeah its annoying for sure..what gets me though is that its a common caliber, not like some wildcat thats only been commercialised in the past year or so.

That's inspiring! All that was missing was one highlighting itself in front of one of the range targets :) Brings to mind a story about an officer at Gallipoli, that was dumb enough to stand right next to a Turkish sniper's sighting stone.
How do you figure out the wind allowance? All by the little streamer and experience?

I wish I could send you guys stuff. Sometimes I read here and it seems like WWII. Except it's your own government that blockaded you. Meh, my crappy government kinda blockaded you to some extent as well.

Only going to get worse over the next couple of months.

Might be time to invest in a fold-up sun shade tent of some sort.
