Equipment for long range shooting.

Today I did a short video on the equipment I use for long range shooting. Its a brief description on the various components I use to help me reach out and tag those ferals.
cheers,
Sean.

Sean, great video as always. How did you work out the drop table? Trial and error or punching numbers into an app?
How's my posting?

Thanks Brett,
I first got the basic ballistics data from the side of the box then added it to the point blank ballistics program which gave me the basic drop from 100-500 yds in 25yd increments , I then worked out the drop from 200yds through to 500yds in 5yd increments. With wind drift I got the basic 10mph read out at all ranges which I calculated the drift from 2.5-20mph in 2.5mph increments. All the calculations were in inches, I then converted to MOA(1 click represents .25 MOA.)
Sean.

Congrats and well done Sean.
I enjoy seeing the vids that you show us from time to time.

The long ranges and extreme accuracy that you have obviously worked hard to achieve are a credit to you.

Every time I see one of your vids I am reminded (with a chuckle) of a pathetic neighbor I used to have when I lived in SA.

Bear with me while I relate this in a brief version.

Neighbour, = Non shooter, Born with silver spoon stuck up his Rse, self professed to be the best breeder of sheep in the district, etc etc.
Complains to me one day about having an active fox den on his back boundary fence (right on the fence line)

Now, his back boundary was adjoining native forest land, and was approx. 1 1/2 klm from his house.

I offered to come and snipe the foxes for him from just inside his property, using the forest as back drop.
His house would have been the 1 1/2 klms BEHIND me.

The next day he phoned me and said he would have to decline my offer because his wife and grandchildren would be in the house, and he considered it to be too dangerous.. :wtf: :wtf:

Now I'm very quick to say that I'm no where near as good as you Sean,, ol mate,,,,,, But I didn't think I was that bad to warrant that judgement.

I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.

Thats it mate, providing you use a rock solid rest....I have got readings on bunnies out to and a bit past 500yds when there
is no mirage and the battery is new. When mirage is present about 425yds is max.

Does the mirage cause the RF to report more or less distance? Or just fail?

Sometimes you will get an inaccurate reading but MOST times no reading at all.
