Winter Bunnies and a Crow.

Post by Elmer » 14 Jul 2019, 5:12 pm

Finally there were enough Bunnies for a bit of a shoot, so I took my trusty .233 and got to work.
My trigger finger was so itchy that a max of 12c had no effect, I managed to tag seven rodents with six caught on film and one crow that decided my Bunny would make a tasty snack.
At one stage it got so windy that it blew my anemometer off the roof of the car and blew the camera over which resulted in a bent view finder (third time that has happened lol).
Despite the wind and rain, it was bloody good to finally tag some rodents....oh, and it was pleasing to see some kittens hopping around as well .
cheers
Sean.

Nice varminting as always Sean,

But boy howdy that used to annoy the crap outta me as a kid.
We used to spend an incredible amount of time stalking and sitting over burrows, and shoot bunnies with open sighted air rifles.
You'd put in the time and the hard yards,,,, shoot one,,,, and then see it kick a few times and disappear down the burrow.

Being in prime tiger snake country back then, we never took the risk of poking an arm down a burrow.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.

Lol, yeah you think you've made a nice clean shot (especially at long range) only to walk up and find no trace of your victim.
Two out the bunnies I shot in this vid were stuck about half a meter into their burrow they were chest shot but the adrenaline gave them enough oomf to crawl down there. I could only see them by shining a torch down there.
