Recently when out at a particular location I saw a "dog" in the thermal, but it was way too far off to consider a shot.
Same thing the next night,, and the next,, and the next etc.
A week went by and I was getting pretty exasperated.
Finally I got a half decent chance, and squeezed the trigger.
I found it in daylight,,,,,,, only to find that it was a fox, and not a dog.
When lasered from where I took the shot, it was a tad under 300 meters.
Was pretty pleased at the shot placement.
The extra large bullet hole through the right ear had been done years ago,,, and was all healed up with fur growing on the edges.
I guess he just plain ran out of luck when it was my turn.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.
