I still can't make up my mind as to what it really is.
The real annoying bit is my camera can't be used anymore and I'd like to try and get more/better pics.
I reset it to "Factory settings",,,,,,,,, and now it won't recognize my password.
End result being I've got a camera that I can't use anymore.
Looking in the book it says "If you forget your pass word, send the camera back with the purchase receipt and they'll unlock it"

I don't have the receipt any more,,,,, and what a ripoff.
All I did was reset it to factory settings.
There was nothing wrong with it.

There was nothing wrong with it.

But, if there was nothing wrong with it, why would you reset it to factory settings?
If you have reset it to the factory settings, have you tried the factory original (default) password. Often, it is something like 0000 or 8888, or something like that. The "book" will have a reference to it.
WRT receipt and "rip-off". Well, not really. They (correctly) want to identify that whoever is returning the device is the legitimate owner, else any joe blow could send a stolen device back and have it "unlocked".

What 49er said.
Was it purchased at a bricks and mortor or online?

Thanks Mate,, there was nothing wrong with it excepting last download was nearly 200 photos and wasn't sure if camera was taking photos every 2 mins or whether the grass was waving in the breeze and triggering it,, so I put it back to factory settings.
And,,,, that was where the problem started.
I rang the rep again today, and said I couldn't find initial receipt,,,, but when saying I still had the original box plus booklets, plus cables etc he said if I could send a pic of same,,,,,,,,,,,,, he would reply with how to unlock it.

Cheers,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Did this late aft,,,,,, so will expect a solution maybe tomorrow.
