This little load almost looks like they've stepped on a land mine, best accuracy I've achieved yet too, 75gr Speer varmint hollow point (biggest hollow point hole ever seen) flat base projectile, pushed by 44gr of AR2209 in once fired neck sized brass, mind you all rifles of differing brand makes etc like different loads. Mines out of a blued howa varmint axiom stock
Howa axiom varmint .243
C.Gustav 6.5x55 (sporterised)
Savage mkII T.hole varmint 17hmr
Chiappa lever action 12g
Baikal S.Shot .308
Mossberg plinkster .22
Norinco lever .22

75gr bullets on a poor Fox, gee. You guys really hate Foxes and love wearing out barrels, fast.

I can think of a lot better, cheaper and just as accurate calibres to shoot a Fox with .... and quieter than that loud .243W bark that's heard for a long way.

But, I suppose not everyone has a selection of calibres to use on little critters.

They're like vampires.

If you don't do enough damage in 1 hit they come back to life...

I use 75gr HP on feral dogs and none of those have come back to life after getting hit, so I don't think you need worry about the fox.
I'd suggest you take a 12 gauge loaded with BB or No.2 shot and a whistle.

Mmm, I have been thinking about taking an old single 12g and the 223 when I go out whistling next. Have others tried doing that?

Can't be arsed carrying a pair around personally.

I'd just take the .223 for the extra-range over the shotty.

Yeah, and a mate - 1 with the 12g and 1 with the rifle. Also gives you an extra set of eyes and someone to talk to.

That's a better idea.

1 with a rifle and 1 with a shotty.
