Seems numbers are up in some parts of QLD.

They don't seem to mention that the Government doing nothing for years is a big part of the cause.

And no mention of sporting shooters helping out either.

Yes. The government, it would appear, have their snouts in other troughs.

And I thought you were taking about Chinese...or the next cronavirus coming from pugs instead of bats

If it was a couple of others I might have considered cops as the subject matter

I am intrigued. Is it a G or an S missing from the title?

cz515, you raise an interesting point.

No hunting on public land would not help.

After reading that whole report it was apparent to me that all of the areas named,, that are in my stamping grounds have had pigs
for years anyway.
Contradicted to some degree as for the last two years the pigs all but vanished for some reason, and are only now starting to return.
Not in huge numbers though at present.

Of the areas specifically named, like "Cunninghams Gap" which is part of the Great Dividing range,,,,, that terrain is rugged, and very well suited
to pig populations, so no surprises there.

The comment by Councillor Grant Mathers saying that properties that bound onto National Parks are finding pigs coming in and rooting up lawns etc in the search for food sources,,,,,,,,,,
WOW,, your a rocket scientist Councillor Mathers.

Yes, the pigs may well be starting to breed up again,,,,, but the article doesn't look at the other side of the coin.
The human race is as always breeding and expanding,, and we are building into the bushland at an ever increasing rate.
Common sense says that of course there are wild animals that we will see and encounter.

But as usual,,,,,,,,, its not our fault.

Yes, Marlin 30.30 336 if I recall correctly. My first center fire. That's about 1980. Western NSW. Traded the 30.30 in about 88 to buy a Winchester M70 in 30.06 that I still have.

Me and my mate shot about 35 or 40 pigs in about 6 days. I had not long become a dad.

Yes it was.
I recall we got a shower one day and before we knew it we were walking on stilts.

I hear ya . Western Queensland red soil is shocking stuff. Slippery as in a vehicle cause the stuff on top is slippery sticking muck , while the stuff underneath stays hard making ice road type driving. When it gets soaked all the way , down to the axle you go. And that walking on stilts thing definitely applies
