Recommendations for fox hunting?

In the last 12 months, the old Volvo has 15 confirmed fox kills (pre dawn and after dusk driving) and come out the other side laughing maniacally. The newer volvo has killed 2 foxes, but that car is way too fox friendly, too much plastic etc.

The old Volvo also ran over a roo and spat it out the back like it was nothing, although the guy behind didn't think so, cos the roo nearly landed on his bonnet. My hubby spent a couple of days picking bits of fur and skin out from underneath the car.

Never heard a song about a volvo, maybe that's a good thing.

I've just watched a youtube video on the Marlin XT-22R, and after reading what the guys on here have been talking about, maybe it'd be a better option for me.

Thoughts guys?

I'll be using it for foxes. Earlier this year we had a maximum of 16 different foxes on this place, with a couple of those being quite small. My neighbour believes there is a den where our two properties meet.

Buy a cheap open sight .22 for $100 bucks. Buy a Silva Fox Whistle and learn how to use it. I have owned a silva for 6 months now and I have shot more foxes in this past 6 months than I have since I started shooting 15 years ago

Hey,

We get about 11kms per litre in the old Volvo. Pretty economical, and it's probably been the most reliable car I've ever owned. It's done everything we've asked of it, and done it easily.

I know we have hares that live under the cars. The bloody things scare the hell out of me as they jump out when I'm walking past them. Most of the cars get moved around on a regular basis, but those that don't (my mini, 2 range rovers, 2 benz's, 1 older volvo and a ford) seem to be ideal spots for hares to raise their young!

The most thirsty car I have was my old Range Rover that I am part way through stripping down. It's donating parts to my other Range Rover. When I'm done, I'll turn the old Rangie into a spotlighting vehicle, the one i'm fixing will go on club reg until I get it ready for full road registration.

As for crossbow's, no thanks. lol

+1 on getting a fox whistle, take a chair into the yard blow the whistle and they will come to you,much easier that way.

I love my volvo. She may not be pretty, but she's fast and does a real number on any foxes stupid enough to try and outrun her, or play chicken with her lol

I've thought about it, even talked to my husband about it.

However, every time I walk around to try and decide which cars will go, I find some reason why they can't and just have to stay. There are 3 cars on this place that I am not "attached" to, so maybe i'll let them go, but not the last.

Here's a pick of my pride and joy car. One day I'll restore her from the ground up. In the meantime, I'll continue to drive her on club reg until I sort out all the niggly little problems, and I can afford to put the time and money in that she needs to be brought back to her former glory.

By the way, she's 350SLC Mercedes. 1973 model.

The 350 is a beautiful car. There aren't that many of them around these days. Plenty of 450SLC's though.

My husband bought me the 350SLC as an anniversary present, and about 12 months later, he bought himself a 350SE. Still nice, but not as nice as mine lol

Also, I love driving the Volvo. She's quick, responsive, reliable and pretty damned tough too. Easy for the kids to learn to drive in, and the added security of having such a tough car around you helps as well. There are that many d#%khead drivers around these days, I like the older (tough) cars rather than the pretty "plastic" ones.

As for parts, they're cheap. We import all of our parts from the US, which usually works out to be at least 3 times cheaper than buying within Australia, even with freight charges, and we get it sooner than buying from local places.

Now, I wonder how a gun rack would look in the back of my 740?!
