They'd practically wiped out the goat herd that the owner was apparently cultivating for the wool (Angora Goats), and it was only when the owner started having horses chased through fences, and a foal killed that he did something about it.
On about 220 acres, three guys (no idea who they were, but it was around 1993 or 1994) managed to shoot 17 dogs over 3 nights. Two weeks later, they came back and got another 4 dogs, but said there were plenty more out there. I left shortly after so don't know how it all ended.
I'd worry that, in that situation, my nerves would take over and I wouldn't be a good enough shot. I'm more likely to stay hiding in my tent or find a nice sturdy tree to climb lol but then, I'm chicken hehe

I've experienced dogs in packs many times, and it was only due to training that made them as safe as is possible.
Still, I reckon going up a tree would suit me lol

Or were they abandoned from a farm or something, now surviving on their own?
Not the kinds of dogs I expected.
