Those bunnies sure are dumb...

Post by kurl » 21 Sep 2014, 7:06 pm

Got out for a spot of varminting at a new friends property this weekend.

Talk about dumb bunnies!

We got situated on a hill looking down onto a warren with the .223 and got to picking them off. After each shot they'd duck into their holes and then 2-3 minutes later out they come.

Got 7 in about 10 minutes before they wised up and stayed hid.

Great day out :D

I am going down South in the near future for a break, and will be going to a property near Ballarat where I used to do the same thing as the OP

Only this time I'll have my night vision gear on the 22/250

Used to get heaps of bunnies as well as foxes there in the afternoons. In fact one afternoon I got 3 foxes in approx. 3 mins without even moving.
Cant wait till I get back into a good supply of cotton tails, and really test the night vision sight. 8-) 8-)

Was trying to hit a rabbit that was behind a little mound of dirt, at about 80 yards, my first two shots hit the dirt, then the third hit the rabbit. I had three shots at the thing!

Hey Fuzzy M,
That is exactly the possible shot that presented to me a couple years back.
I waited thinking he would feed out into the open,,,,,,,,,,,, but no,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, so I took the shot.
Only difference was I did it in 1 shot.

Not pretty, cos all I could see was the crown of his head between the ears.

The only place I really go for bunnies is up to a property in Yea here in Victoria.

I don't use an Iphone Benny, so no idea about that.

If you email them though I can upload for you.

I guess that'll happen with a HP 22/250 through that region.
