A good night out

I went out last night with two of my mates to a property that i have for a bit of bunny bashing the rabbits are flighty on this place,as in they never sit still for long,always a hop or ten, this property also has a pure white rabbit,,we call him moby we got a look at moby but just a look long story short we got a bakers dozen and as an added bonus we shot a young and dumb fox each, we have never seen foxes on this place before so it was good to know that they are around, might have to take the 223 next time as the 22s were being streached abit for the pups

yeah they are pretty crappy i think i need a better headlight to give more light,almost didnt post because the pics were so bad the top one is of rabbits the next is of two fox pups a mate had shot the one on the left about ten minutes earlier ,my other mate was making sure that his was dead when the driver said there is one behind us, after i shot it i went over and it was about three feet from the first one we shot

that white(tame?) sucker has as many lives as a cat we have all had a shot at it and all missed so there it a fair bit of stirring when we see it now no outright sabotage but lets just say that your under pressure when you take the shot

dog food i have an old dog thats a bit fussy on what he eats, so a bit of rabbit gets him eating cook them and then into the mincer bones and all

thats the only bad bit about rabbits although i have just started on the old "squeeze the guts out" method but i only have luck with the young ones the old bucks dont wont to play ,,need to do some wieghts

long way just for a few rabbits and the odd fox but if you have a place with deer i think we could work something out

Picking up a few venison fillets on the way is probably the best I can guarantee

As a kid I was only taught to slit up belly (carefully, I have a weak stomach for their rancid stink ), hold by front and rear legs and then fling the gut out,
Small nick across back, peal skin off, chop neck feet & tail with tomahawk - done. At most have to pull out the last bit of intestine. Clean up a bit more if not for dog food.

Just what it sounds like. You squeeze them like a toothpaste tube and if done right you can pop the guts out the rear end in a little package.

You squeeze them tight below the ribs to clamp off the top half and move down to force the guts out. Giving it a twist to increase the pressure helps.

Tried the squeezing thing tonight. There must be a knack to it but will watch the youtubes to see it in action. Maybe my muppet grip needs some work.
Back to 'slit and fling' the gut out till then. Takes all of 5 seconds each.

New Savage BTV 22 / Leupold mark AR with green dot combo worked a treat this arvo in the last hour of useful light. My Rotty was kept busy retrieving.
I never thought illuminated sights would help drastically but I'm converted! Tiny green dot set to low brightness was very handy in low light.
