A few goats

Post by tom604 » 01 Mar 2015, 10:06 pm

Been up the Flinders Ranges for a few days (in 35 degree + heat) and did a lot of walking and climbing, not much flat ground out there  but got to see a few goats  and even better got to shoot a few as well

up at six and out by seven, back by five thirty or six, find some shade in the middle of the day for a kip, nothing moves in the middle of the day, too hot for man or beast

i took a couple of legs for meat, (going to try and make some jerky), but didn't take as much as i wanted as all the small ones i shot were at the end of the day and i had a long walk in front of me to get back to the car :(

anyway ill let the pics tell the story

Haha would have been hot as. What part of the Flinders did you go to? Some people say there are heaps of goats and others have told me barely anything.

Looks like good hunting, not loving the look of those hills though

The old legs aren't what they used to be.

there were a few with heads like that but i didn't take any for a trophy,,,i have seen a lot better so i will wait for a great head to make the carry out worthwhile

got about twenty  they had a "rain event" about six? weeks ago and the creeks were holding a bit of water, too much really, as if it was only one or two spots the goats would of been easier to find
