Yay,, the cassowary is certainly one mean Mutha.

Casso = White fella be,,,,,,,,,
Wary = One nasty bird. (jus joshing)

Australia certainly has its fair share of nasties from the animal world, though most tourists (terrorists) don't realize it.

Though not a bird, how many people have googled and read accounts of attacks on people (even some on horseback) by our "lovely" and "furry" roos ??
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
I've come to realize that,,,,, the two most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were both canines.

we had about 4 crows that would consistently come and steal eggs from the chook house just down from the farm house at about 7 in the morning. had some mates stay over with their .22s and lined up a different one each from well inside the house shooting through a couple of windows. 4 very dead crows was a great result

Probably a reflection of US media but went I went to the US half the people I spoke with were terrified of the prospect of Australia because of the wildlife.

Deadly spider under every rock, snake in every bush, blue ringed occy in every pond.

Clock Spiders, Rock Spiders, :lol:
What I don't want is GLOCK spiders living in my barrels, a close relative of the funnel web i hear.
And the Tourist pamphlet doesn't even mention of drop bears or hoop snakes.
