More Magnum Bunnies

Post by Elmer » 04 Jul 2015, 11:50 pm

I decided to try something different today and walk up to a area (leaving the car behind) where I had seen quite a few bunnies on previous occasions.
I chose a spot under some shady trees about 100 to 120 meters, and with the rifle resting on a bag on top of a stool for a rest I began to scan for rodents (and yes I know they are not classified as rodents   ) and within minutes they started to show.
The first and second was shot at around 115-120 yds (105-109mts), the third at 75yds (68mts), the fourth at 130yds (119mts) , the fith and sixth at 120-125 yds (109-114mts).
All these bunnies were in prime condition and had very little hunting pressure and yes I did take a couple for the pot.
The little Magnun performed perfectly as usual and once again I would not hesitate in recommending it for serious bunny busting...all together it was a great day and shooting of a "portable rest" was certainly a nice change.

Mm stool is a good simple idea. I have been using diy shooting sticks, and they are not too bad. But have1 eye open for a cheap camera tripod to convert.
No bunnies where I am at the moment, too cold for them I think.
