we were at my dads place the tics were bad this year we seen lots of deer they have shut down the killing of does for gun seasen for the last 3 years and numbers have came up real good on deer.
The kid seen 2 legal bucks he couldnt get on the first one the second one didnt stand a chance he shot it at
about 40 yards with 300 win mag bowled it over.

So do you harvest the meat? Looks a good size to be nice and tender and not too big to carry it all out.

Do you always hunt in a blind or do you stalk as well?

most the time we hunt from blinds or we will push them my dads place is thick brush would be supper hard to stalk it was a young deer about 2 year old and about 130lbs at the most.
I was hunting from a tree stand becouse the brush was about 5 foot tall and hard to see in it on the ground.

we can only shoot one buck a year we can kill a a doe with the bow so total is 2 but right now we cant shoot any does in the area we hunt in gun seasen only bow.
most states micro manage the deer and each county wont be the same i have hunted were i could shoot 2 does a day but am not allowed to shoot no more then 2 bucks i have no need to shoot that many and wont when my sons hunt i would much rather see them have a good time and it they each take a deer or 2 each i have it all year.

What's this about you can normally take a doe with a bow but not a rifle?

What's that meant to accomplish?
What is this "too many rifles" you speak of?

the harvest avg with a bow is about 30% here much lower then a gun and there are more gun hunters then bow hunters the idea is to bring the number does killed down so when populations reach what they want gun huners tend to keep the numbers in check.
the population was lower from drought and disease but it is comeing back up.

Just stacking the odds in the deers favour.

I don't reckon I could get one with a bow.
