Removing shot from rabbit?

Post by tuffstuff » 30 Oct 2013, 6:15 pm

Hi guys,

Not a shotgun shooter so don't know about these things.

Having a read on some hunting shotguns and looking at a picture of a kid with a couple of rabbits which are headed for dinner.

He's shooting a few hundred shot shells... How much of that do you have to pull out of the rabbit afterwards?

Seems like it would almost be lead stew at the end?

The easy answer is using steel shot for your eating rabbits, you can just spit or S#1T out what you didnt remove without the worry of lead poisioning.

It's far better and cheaper to shoot bunnies with a .22. A shot gun is overkill

It's not like 100 pellets go in either.

Depending on range and so on it would only be a few to pick out.

No no, the rabbit goes the stew into a after you shoot it...

You're not trying to turn it into stew all over the grass.

Get one of those rare-earth magnets. Strongest magnets around...

They'd do the job for you ;)
