Couple of red dogs taken near Neering. One tried to swim for it before being dispatched . Can’t wait for the drives to start up again.

Thanks gents, I was calling him for about 15 mins trying to get him a bit closer but he would not budge. As he wasn't moving I figured I'd have a crack and the 87gr v-max went straight through the boiler room. He was an old male that had seen a few winters I reckon, worn down yellowed teeth and some very tough skin compared to the other 2 I had scalped earlier.

Thanx stix was going to skin it but it was full of little burs that were tangled up in fur and it really stunk so I left it would of made a good skin hey when you flesh your fox skins try pinning them out tight on board and use a cheap gernie and blast the fat and blood on an angle but don't go to close or you will tear little holes along the sides they come up unreal and it takes about 10 mins worth a try trust me ow yeah stand back a bit or you will get covered in fat

Good on ya mate...that response made me fukn laugh...  :drinks:

That fur was a cracker i rekon...
(Ya lazy bustard...!! :drinks: )

Honestly, a fox tskes me 30-45 mins to flesh, a cat takes half that & has much better leather...!!!

When you do one, you'll absolutely kick yourself for being lazy & worrying about a few prickles...i rekon they're also easier to skin (unless you're a perfectionist & let the worry of making a mistake csuse you to take ages to skin like me!! )

And i used to like the occasional shandy on a stinkin hot day when im hankering for a drink & a sugar hit... ...that is until i discovered Scotch, dry & soda mix with a squeezed wedge of fresh lime & a crushed kaffir lime leaf...now my livers' got no chance... :drinks:

Make sure you skin the next one mate...no point me being the only one here hooked on skinning cats... :unknown: :!: :D

I went out last night as it is lambing time. Saw a few but none we were able to have a ping at. Except for this bloke. He was just resting in the grass looking at a ewe and her lamb. Now he is having his final rest.

Very nice work. You seem to be going through a purple patch at the moment. Which is excellent to see. The farmer whose property I have been shooting on tells me he has knocked off about 15 foxes in the last month or so. If you keep at it you can make a dent in the numbers I reckon.

Good on you. One of the things that I have noticed is you can’t shoot foxes sitting at home watching telly. You have to get out there. I really think that shooting them frequently will make a difference. The farmer I shot with this weekend pointed out that baiting is pretty pointless if there is a lot of other food around.
