AJB. I compliment you on your fox presentation photo skills. I don’t like to see any unnecessary gore. With pigs I tend to kick dirt across it if I can. And I’ll mostly use my boot to shuffle a fox around a bit into a better position if I have to

Cheers mate....generally dont start this early as a rule....but had an urgent SOS off a cocky lambing late.....He has 100 acres himself and leases another 100 acres next to him.....
In 6 trips there i have taken 30 foxes off the 200 acres he has....Which has led to a couple of his neighbors asking me to shoot their places as well....
Cant beat word of mouth.....

Ha ha...I wish Stix....

Hi Tib004, there is a you tube ramble by Ozzie on his PARD 007 and a Howa 204 and I'm sure the rifle has a Hawke scope. Might be worth a look if only for the Pard 007.

Had the annual fox shoot here in my local area and out of dozens of groups out on the same night about 500 foxes were shot, just between another three of us since November last year we have shot over that amount in a fraction of the area, and I'm happy to report that it never gets boring a all

some really nice foxes there there a great sport to hunt I’ve never seem to many in day light hours late Arvos very early mornings are definitely the prime time if not spotlighting as some of you have mentioned it’s some hard to find some who can work a spotlight quick enough to get them in the light before they high tail it I find most people are way to slow sweeping the light scare them off will pick one up but can’t keep it in the light. There’s a art form to it knowing all the tricks like getting the light in front of them to stop them giving the light a little shake to get them to move to get a shot on them
I’ve been trying to teach my young boy his slowly getting it making it a lot more fun
A little off the conversation but dose any one use different coloured lenses on the lights for foxes still there where really common back in the day when skins where worth good money and we went out especially to hunt them for money

G'day Oldbloke,

I'm beginning to think it may be worth getting up early and having a crack. I've got 14 or so over recent months between 8:00 and 10:30 PM over baits on my place, but my trail cameras are getting many pictures of foxes at 4:00 to 5:00 AM or so when I'm still in bed.

Caught this guy chewing on something...he was enjoying it so much he took the risk of choosing to stay & chew over doing the skidaddle...

This one was a little frustrated & had just about given up on this--he just couldnt penetrate it.

I was watching him on the carcass for a while as he was on the other side & i couldnt get a shot, & i could tell he was getting edgy so didnt wana risk starting the car to move for a better position.

He eventually gave up on it & started sniffing all around the carcass & eventually started to wander off ignoring my squeeks...he was nearly beyond an angle i could shoot out the window so let out a loud "quack" to pull him up...

The ewe would have died that afternoon-wasnt there long enough for a whole day, & the eye was pecked out so mustve been daylight for crows to do that.
