NSw Licence check

Post by HulkFury » 25 Jun 2016, 3:38 pm

Can anyone with a NSW firearms licence please check their licence status at this website>> https://apps.police.nsw.gov.au/FPR/lice ... search.jsp ?

I have been watching my PTA approval like a hawk, but now it comes up "This licence is NOT valid."

Obviously hoping it's an error.

Something is broken, just checked my 3 and all were returned as invalid. I wouldn't sweat it, being a Saturday they might be doing some maintenance on the systems.

Yeah first PTA, I know there is a 28 day minimum wait, but I can't help checking.

who said it was 28 days ah yer right that,s what they tell you right.
What i have found 6 days post to get to far locked bag 1 gets all its mail on one day they are stockpiled for 1 delivery ,
then the 28 days starts after processing , point of the 28 days they have to process them first if a big volume come it may be longer
Then they post most out on a Thursday or Friday and you tend to get them in the mail on a Tuesday delivery.
out of all my Pta applied for and processed I have watched the credit card for the day they are processed normally 6 to 7 days after post date
So i asked and was told about the stock pile at mail exchange and as a trial I have sent them registered mail and express still same result.
what class was it for A or B

This licence is NOT valid

Yeh, I'm getting the same thing. I'm exactly the same position as you. About the same period into my first PTA.

Same deal here, "not valid" :unknown: Despite the fact that I just received a PTA back in about 10 days. Still waiting on another one that was submitted about a week later. I'm expecting that today, obviously these aren't my first ones. :D

It was for class A, according to the website, it was received 8th June. Do I need to wait for the paperwork, or is the registry online approval good enough (once approved)?

HulkFury, you need the physical piece of paper. When you purchase your rifle , the dealer will fill in all the blanks with the details of the firearm purchased. The form is then torn in half and you keep one half as a "de-facto" registration and the other half goes to registry. You will at some time down the track, don't hold your breath, receive the full registration paper for your firearm.

Yeah, you must've been right about the "down for maintenance" call Brett. I just got a second PTA back in under a fortnight, and out where I am you can loose a couple of days with local delivery. No complaints from here.
