Lib's plan to microchip suspects by sniper rifle

A LIBERAL Party candidate proposed a radical new policing system in which criminal suspects would be injected with satellite-trackable microchips shot from a ''high powered sniper rifle''.

Ray King, who is contesting the western Sydney electorate of McMahon, was behind the idea, which he claimed would improve productivity of the NSW Police Force.

Mr King, a former police commander in Liverpool, landed in hot water on Friday over critical comments he made about burqas at an election campaign function where guests included the disgraced former detective Roger Rogerson and current assistant police commissioner Frank Minnelli.

In 2011, Mr King outlined his ideas in a 12-page essay, Microchipping of human subjects as a productivity enhancement and as a strategic management direction of NSW Police.

The paper was submitted to a police leadership conference shortly before he was promoted from Cabramatta to Liverpool.

I'm sure they wouldn't notice a thing - be just like a mozzy bite! What the hell is Mr king taking to come up with ideas like that?
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

Laffin my guess would be drugs with healthy doses of sci fi movies. I guess they do have drones the size of mosquitoes now, but still my answer is drugs

bit of old news really if it's from 2011 but still a dumb idea (In 2011, Mr King outlined his ideas in a 12-page essay) LOL

Maybe he since seen episodes of NCIS LA where they have stolen his idea and refined it to a point where they can simply spray a mist of liquid micro dots from a pressure pack and track the suspect vie satellite. sure sounds acheivable

Mabey we should start with liberal party candidates, as a test subject would be fun to shoot some of them between the eyes witha microchip. "Improve productivity of the Police "- Really - Do they know how to scan a criminal or will they mistake them for someones pet?. Oh well at least they are caable of a 12 page essay rather than a royal commission and submitt it to apolice leadership conferance in a phone booth. And if someone promoted me From Cabramatta to Liverpool I certainly woudnt brag about it.

at what point does a "suspect" lose his rights ... I mean come on, we have a bad habit of portraying any suspect as guilty in Australia, but that is what the courts are for.

I guess when the police 'suspect" or mistake them for a criminal but if you get shot in the a** with a microchip walking down the street you can assume you're a suspect? Dont need courts. Need more vetenary clinics to scan people

I guess a head shot would be best because it will place the micro chip closer to the satellite.

How small does he think these tracking chips are that they could be shot in without feeling them?

Unless he's cracked nano-technology and not told anyone, I think he's barking...
