Sorry if this comes across the wrong way, but should you know how to get the above licence if you have said business? That would be the first and foremost priority if it were me :wtf:

Because i reckon it would be bloody hard to get and the hoops you would have to jump through. Good luck though :thumbsup:

These should cover everything for you.

Licence Category and Genuine Reason Table
http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/__data/ass ... y_2014.pdf

Category D Licence
Prohibited except for official purposes
* Self-loading centre-fire rifles
* Self-loading rimfire rifles with a magazine capacity of more than 10 rounds
* Self-loading shotguns with a magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds
* Pump action shotguns with a magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds
* Any firearm to which a category C licence applies

Reason: Vertebrate Pest Animal Control

Accepted: YES
* Professional contract shooter, or
* Employed or authorised by a government agency, or
* Primary Producer involved in an authorised eradication campaign.
+ Demonstrate special need.

Vertebrate Pest Animal Control is not an acceptable reason for category C as it's covered by D. Go straight to D ;)

Is there something to officially be a vertebrate pest control business?

I mean if you have your cat B and are offering your services for a fee does that constitute a business and get your foot in the door for the accessories?

(I do mean working towards it legitimately, not just pretending for the sake of the license)

From memory there is a gov accredited Vertebrate Pest Management course to complete.

On my phone sorry so PITA searching to find link but I'm sure you can google it.

I don't think you can just say "I'm a hunter offering services" otherwise we'd all have it.

Cat C- The police use the tax department definition for primary producers, if the tax dept does not recognise you as a primary producer no chance for cat c.
If using clay target shooting for cat c then you cannot hunt with it.

Cat D- A registered business is not enough, you will have to provide evidence of your contracts to shoot and prove this is where you get your income.

You can do a trappers course, become certified for roo culling which will also help.

How about being the mod of a shooting forum? I see ads so it's a business.

You guys need a cat C and D for "product research" for your "customers" right? :D

I'm not sure for NSW but I think I read on here there are something like 17 cat D licenses only in Victoria :(

They obviously make it real hard.
