Getting registered antique unregistered

Does anyone know if this is possible.? I know a bloke that has an antique .577 Enfield that is registered. It is in poor condition and I would like to buy it as a wall hanger but cant do that if it is registered. Wondered if this has been done before.

I can't help, but I know a guy that spent months trying to buy a Gras rifle from WA that was licenced. He called around a lot trying to find somebody willing to delicence it for him once it arrived here but got nowhere, so didn't end up getting it. If the .577 is interstate try to get it delicenced in its home state before it gets sent to you, I think you'll find that easier to deal with.

Before 2021 replica machine guns(non functioning) had to be registered in QLD on a collector licence as a cat R and stored accordingly . But in 2021 they changed the law now you can buy them the same way like buying a pack of cigarettes'. Just be over 18. So the registered ones all got deregistered.
