Cat a/b licence reason ( Hunting or target)

Post by fnq22 » 03 Jul 2025, 8:50 am

Just wondering if someone was applying for their first licence (QLD) can they use the details of a farm/property in NSW as the reason to get the licence for hunting or would they have to use a QLD club and apply under target shooting...

if that isnt possible can a membership of a dedicated pistol club be used as the club (also applying for cat H)..?

cheers Scott

Just pay the $40($70 if pistol added) a year member to shooters union. That will be your genuine reason right there for a QLD licence.

They are a registered hunting and gun club. So being a member allows you genuine reason to apply.

cheers but they have said it will be fine to use that clubs details...I didnt realise large community based gun clubs wouldnt join one of the main shooter bodies around......
